About this Event
Sheffield City Council, Licensing Service and Domestic & Sexual Abuse Commissioning Team invite you to the 2026 re launch of the Sheffield Women and Girls Safety Charter – 10th November, 2-4pm, Odeon Sheffield Screen 3
The Charter is our call to action for all organisations, businesses, venues and individuals to join us in tackling gender inequality and make Sheffield a fair and inclusive city, where everyone is safe and welcome.
The charter provides practical steps towards addressing women's and girl's safety in your workplace, premises or venues, such as training and resources.
This is part of a council initiative to tackle Violence Against Women and Girls, and to improve the safety of women and girls who work, visit or socialise in the city.
The Charter has been based on good practice from other cities including London and Bristol and the 2026 version was updated following consultation with local women including students, women’s groups, and survivors of sexual harassment and abuse.
At the launch you will:
- Hear about why women and girls safety is important for Sheffield
- Understand what commitments we are asking you to make
- Find out how to sign up
- Learn about the new South Yorkshire Police initiative Businesses Against Abuse that is starting this year
