The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center is bringing back the hit play “Las Comadres de Morales St.” for a limited run at the SAY Sí Black Box Theater, 1310 S. Brazos St. San Antonio, TX 78207, Thursday through Saturday, November 12–21, at 8pm and Sundays November 15 and 22 at 3pm. General admission tickets are $15 and available at www.guadalupeculturalarts.orgWritten by San Antonio playwright, poet, and actor Irene Chavez, “Las Comadres de Morales St.” returns after a hugely successful premiere that moved and energized local audiences. Set in San Antonio’s Westside, the play follows a tight-knit group of neighbors whose lives are intertwined by friendship, family, and the everyday fight to hold on to their community. With humor, heart, and honesty, the story tackles Covid, gentrification, and years of disinvestment, while centering on the strength of elders, comadres, and familia.
A reception honoring the playwright, director, and cast members will follow the opening performance.
