About this Event
Kundalini energy is traditionally understood as a life-force energy within us. Through breath, meditation, movement, and embodied awareness, we invite this energy to flow through the body and the seven chakras. Kundalini shaking incorporates intuitive and spontaneous movement—such as shaking, swaying, or trembling—to support embodied awareness, release tension, and deepen connection with the body and inner experience.
What Are Chakras?
Chakras are described in yogic traditions as seven primary energy centres located along the central axis of the body. Each chakra is associated with particular physical sensations, emotional themes, psychological needs and aspects of personal and spiritual development.
Rather than viewing chakras as physical organs, they can be understood as a holistic framework for exploring the relationship between the body, breath, emotions and consciousness. When our energy feels balanced, we may experience greater grounding, emotional openness, confidence, clarity and connection. When an area feels constricted, we may notice tension, emotional reactivity, disconnection or recurring patterns in our lives.
- Root Chakra — Safety and Grounding
Slow abdominal breathing helps us settle into the body and cultivate a sense of stability, presence and belonging. - Sacral Chakra — Emotion and Creativity
Fluid, connected breathing into the lower abdomen may encourage emotional flow, pleasure, creativity and flexibility. - Solar Plexus Chakra — Confidence and Personal Power
Stronger diaphragmatic breathing can help us connect with vitality, healthy boundaries, motivation and purposeful action. - Heart Chakra — Love and Compassion
Expansive breathing into the chest supports openness to love, grief, forgiveness, compassion and meaningful connection. - Throat Chakra — Truth and Expression
Breath combined with sighing, humming or vocalization may help release tension around the throat and encourage authentic expression. - Third-Eye Chakra — Intuition and Inner Vision
Gentle, rhythmic breathing supports stillness, self-observation and a deeper connection with inner guidance. - Crown Chakra — Connection and Consciousness
Quiet, spacious breathing and meditation may cultivate surrender, interconnectedness and spiritual awareness.
About the Facilitator:
Heidi Kwok is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, integrative therapist, and founder of Innerverse Integrated Health. Her work bridges the wisdom of Eastern philosophy and contemplative traditions with Western psychology, neuroscience, and mind-body approaches.
Drawing from psychotherapy, meditation, breathwork, energy practices, and somatic awareness, Heidi supports individuals in exploring emotional blocks, reconnecting with the body, and cultivating greater emotional freedom and embodied presence. Her approach honours the interconnectedness of mind, body, energy, and consciousness, creating space for deeper self-awareness, inner alignment, and authentic expression.
At the heart of Heidi’s work is the belief that healing is not only about understanding ourselves intellectually, but learning to safely feel, experience, and embody more of who we are.
