Kim Maguire—vocals, Leeran Z Rafaely—piano, Jonti Siman—bass, Matt Jorgensen—drums, and Travis Ranney—saxKim Maguire has been a professional performer, educator, director, and producer for the past 30 years. A 2017 Seattle/Kobe Female Jazz Vocalist finalist, Kim is a mainstay in the vocal Seattle jazz scene.
Beginning her professional performing career in her teens, Kim has performed across the United States — including New York, Minneapolis, Houston, and Seattle — exploring musical theatre, jazz, classical crossover, cabaret, opera, and pop. A proud alumna of the prestigious Minneapolis Children's Theatre & School, where she trained as a student and went on to work as a company member, Kim also pursued her craft in New York City at Circle in the Square Theatre School, one of Broadway's most celebrated training institutions, where she completed their rigorous two-year professional program. Over the past 15 years, she has dedicated herself primarily to jazz, while increasingly weaving opera and classical musical theatre into her jazz foundation.
Kim’s blend of jazz and classical crossover reflects a career-long curiosity and commitment to authentic artistic expression. She has performed on many regional and local stages including Houston Grand Opera, Fifth Avenue Theatre, Benaroya Hall, Seattle Jazz Vespers, Village Theatre, and Town Hall. A regular at the Hotel Sorrento, she has also appeared at Tula’s, Egan’s, North City Bistro, Boxley’s, Vito’s, and Frederick Holmes’ “Hot Jazz in the Gallery” series.
As an educator, Kim has taught private voice for 35 years and has produced and directed numerous student cabarets across a wide range of genres. She is passionate about helping others discover their strongest voice through technique exploration and personal connection. Kim remains a catalyst for inclusiveness and unity through shared musical experiences.
