Come join us for a FREE author talk with Yassmin Abdel-Magied at Kensington Book Club this July — an inspiring evening of conversation and connection, hosted in a lecture theatre setting.
From 6–7pm, we’ll hear Yassmin discuss her powerful new book At Sea, exploring its themes, inspirations, and the ideas that shaped this compelling work.
Event Timetable:
- 5:45pm — Doors open
- 6:00–7:00pm — Author talk with Yassmin Abdel-Magied
- From 7:00pm — Mingling, stalls, and book signing
Following the talk, guests will have the opportunity to mingle, browse stalls, and continue the conversation in a relaxed setting.
Yassmin Abdel-Magied is a Sudanese writer, broadcaster and a former mechanical engineer. She is currently a writer on Emmerdale, and her original drama series Cruise Control is in development with the BBC. She is a dynamic and thought-provoking voice, known for her insightful storytelling and engagement with questions of identity, belonging, and social change. At Sea promises to be an exciting and meaningful addition to her body of work.
Copies of At Sea will be available to purchase at the event, and you’ll have the chance to get your book signed by Yassmin herself.
