Hello friends and supporters,I'm having a solo show called Cosmic Forms at fortyfivedownstairs in the city (Melbourne) this September and I can't wait! The opening night is 5pm on the 22/9 and I will be showing abstract works from the last two years. I'd love to see you there :)
Cosmic Forms
Kate’s practice has long been a means of connecting to herself through the symmetry and beauty of natural forms. In distilling plants to their essence she finds order in a disordered world.
In a broader sense, the study of biocosmology reveals why natural forms center and ground us.
Biocosmology shows life's ability to create and maintain order is not a contradiction of the universe's chaos, but a delicate interplay between opposing forces. This dance is crucial for comprehending the nature of life and our place in the cosmos.
Botanic structures’ mathematical underpinnings give insight into universal principles that govern the cosmos. These forms show the universe is not just an arbitrary collection of matter, but an organized and interconnected system.
The works in Cosmic Forms can be seen simply as meditations on order within disorder. Yet they also examine our interconnectedness with all living things - from plants, to animals, to each other.
