We're thrilled to be hosted once again by Sportsbet as we welcome Leigh Hanney Crawl to Context: Grounding Your SEO Agents in the Website.
Most 'AI SEO' is a confident stranger guessing about a website it's never seen. This talk shows how to ground your AI agents in your entire site, and why that's the whole game as search and discovery continues to shift from keywords to meaning.
Leigh Hanney is a Melbourne-based technical SEO strategist and the founder of DataCraft Digital. With more than 25 years' experience spanning SEO, analytics, large-scale website migrations, and paid search, he specialises in solving complex search and data problems for education providers, ecommerce businesses, and enterprise brands across Australia.
He is also the creator of SEM Samurai, an AI-powered platform that automates large-scale 301 redirect mapping during site rebuilds and platform migrations. Much of Leigh's work centres on technical SEO and migration strategy, AI-assisted content analysis and intent modelling, search visibility in AI-driven search experiences, and data-led SEO automation. He regularly designs internal LLM-powered systems to streamline SEO auditing, migration planning, internal link recommendations, and content optimisation at scale.
Before moving into consulting in 2011, Leigh worked in-house at SEEK.com.au and the global coupon site RetailMeNot. Since then he has partnered with organisations including RMIT, Coles, Kmart, Afterpay, Open Universities Australia, and Open Colleges.
