10 & 11 April - Jakob Dinesen & Jeremy Monteiro Quartet

11 April - FEW TICKETS LEFT

Jeremy Monteiro and Jakob Dinesen bring together two seasoned jazz voices from different parts of the world. Monteiro, long recognised as Singapore’s “King of Swing,” is known for his lyrical piano style and deep grounding in the jazz tradition. Danish saxophonist Jakob Dinesen complements this with a warm, expressive tenor sound shaped by years of performing across Europe and beyond.

Monteiro has spent decades developing Singapore’s jazz scene as a performer, composer, and mentor. His career has taken him to international festivals and concert stages while maintaining a strong presence in the region’s jazz community. Dinesen, one of Denmark’s leading jazz saxophonists, emerged in the late 1990s and has since worked with artists including Kurt Rosenwinkel, Paul Motian, Jeff “Tain” Watts, and Jakob Bro.

Dinesen’s playing is marked by a clear melodic sense and a thoughtful approach to improvisation. His recordings and projects often move between traditional jazz language and contemporary European influences, while maintaining a strong sense of swing and musical conversation.

Together, Monteiro and Dinesen present a set built on interaction and listening. Their collaboration brings together piano and tenor in a setting where space, phrasing, and musical dialogue take centre stage—well suited to the intimate atmosphere of The Capitol Jazz Club.

17 & 18 April - Vanessa Shavonne

Vanessa Shavonne is a vocalist known for her warm tone and thoughtful approach to interpretation. Drawing from both jazz and soul traditions, she brings a relaxed confidence to the stage, focusing on musical nuance and honest storytelling.

Her style reflects the influence of classic jazz vocalists while remaining grounded in contemporary sensibilities. Rather than relying on showmanship, Shavonne’s strength lies in subtle phrasing, attentive musicianship, and a natural connection with the audience.

She moves comfortably between jazz standards, soul ballads, and modern repertoire, shaping each song with care and musical sensitivity. Whether performing in an intimate jazz club or on a larger stage, her performances feel personal and unforced.

With a voice that balances warmth and restraint, Vanessa Shavonne continues to build a reputation as a vocalist who values musical depth and authenticity above all else.

24 & 25 April - Natasha Oong
Natasha, affectionately known as “Oong” in Thailand, was introduced to Thai audiences in 2009 by Warner Music Group as the lead vocalist of the jazz ensemble Mellow Motif. From the outset, her voice stood apart—clear, composed, and instinctively musical.

Over four formative years as an active recording and performing artist, Natasha established herself as Thailand’s only jazz vocalist with a sustained international presence. She has performed widely across the region, earning recognition for her musical integrity and quietly confident artistry.

Renowned for her crystal-clear tone and refined sense of rhythm and phrasing, Natasha is particularly admired for her interpretations of Brazilian music, where subtlety and timing are essential. Her approach is unhurried and precise, allowing the music to speak with natural grace.

In an intimate listening room, Natasha’s presence invites focus rather than spectacle. Her performances are attentive, restrained, and deeply personal—an ideal fit for the quiet intensity and close connection that define the Capitol Jazz Club experience.
