AYJO Celebrating Sinatra: a Big Band Classic Revisited
Aalborg Youth Jazz Orchestra opens its 2026–2027 season with “Sinatra at the Sands”, one of the most iconic live albums in big band history. Recorded in Las Vegas in 1966 with Frank Sinatra and arrangements by Quincy Jones, the album remains a landmark of the genre.
Audiences can experience classics including “Fly Me to the Moon,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” and “Come Fly With Me”, performed by AYJO with the powerful horn arrangements, traditional big band sound and close interplay between vocalist and orchestra that define the original music.
The concerts also mark the first project for AYJO’s newly assembled 2026–2027 ensemble, bringing together young musicians from across Northern Jutland.
