Planning a trip to Japan? Japanese for Travelers is a short, practical class designed to help you feel more comfortable using Japanese in real-life travel situations. No prior Japanese experience is required. This class focuses on useful phrases, pronunciation, listening practice, and simple speaking skills for common travel situations. Students will practice Japanese for ordering food, shopping, asking for directions, using public transportation, checking in at hotels, making basic requests, and interacting politely with local people. Rather than focusing on systematic grammar, reading, or writing, this class emphasizes practical communication and cultural tips that can make traveling in Japan easier and more enjoyable. While translation apps and AI tools can be helpful, this class gives students the confidence and experience to speak, listen, and communicate on their own during a trip.
