Japanese 101: Learn Hiragana (Ages 12+) - Wednesday, October 14 & 28 (4-5:15pm) Want to learn Japanese but don’t know where to start? Japanese 101 is a two-part program for beginners that introduces you to the basics of the Japanese alphabet. You’ll learn how to read hiragana using fun exercises drawn from anime and manga, enjoy Japanese snacks, and learn about Japanese culture! Joining us is Japan Outreach Initiative cultural coordinator Satoru Hagiwara to share his perspective and expertise! The Japan Outreach Initiative (JOI) brings JOI coordinators from Japan to America to engage communities through Japanese-themed programming. The JOI is hosted by University of Idaho Coeur d’Alene in partnership with the U of I Habib Institute for Asian Studies.
