About this Event

Sharpen your capital raising pitch

Bring your pitch and be ready to present. This hands-on workshop pairs storytelling craft with what investors are actually listening for when a founder is in the room. Learn from direct, specific feedback given in real time from those who have heard hundreds of pitches and know how to create and deliver a compelling story.

Venue announced soon! Space is limited, register now to hold your spot.

Facilitator Info

Jim Arnoff is a certified career, business, and life coach who brings extensive experience in pitch development, storytelling, and helping entrepreneurs communicate their ideas with confidence. A former television packaging agent and entertainment attorney with William Morris Agency, he has worked with production companies and entrepreneurs to sharpen pitches, articulate their unique value, and make compelling presentations. Jim also leads professional development and pitching workshops for organizations including StartOut and NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Additional facilitator to be announced: We're planning to bring an investment-focused perspective into the workshop to complement Jim's expertise in pitching and storytelling, helping founders understand what investors look for and how to strengthen their presentations.

About StartOut NYC's Access to Capital Series

Investor Pitching Workshop is the third of four events. Each one builds on the last, so register for the rest while you're here.

Getting into the room where capital happens isn't always easy for LGBTQ+ founders. Networks can feel closed, introductions are hard to come by, and it's rarely clear where to start. This series gives you access to experts and investors, a clear picture of your funding options, and hands-on help getting ready to raise and pitch.

Sign-up for all four

  1. . Tuesday, October 20, 6 to 8 PM, at the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center. The groundwork for everything that follows. Register now.
  2. . Wednesday, November 4, 6 to 8 PM, at First Citizens Innovation Bank (formerly Silicon Valley Bank). Loans, credit, revenue-based financing and grants: how each works, what it costs and which stage it suits. Register now.
  3. Investor Pitching Workshop: Sharpen Your Pitch With Direct Feedback. This event. Work on your pitch and get direct feedback before you take it to investors.
  4. Investor and Founder Matching: Pitch to Investors Ready to Invest. Wednesday, December 9th (5 to 8 PM). Invite-only, one-on-one time with investors matched to your business. Submit your founder application here.

Brought to you by StartOut NYC and its network of investors, funders and community supporters.
