This one-day taster workshop introduces the basic techniques of tapestry weaving and gives you the chance to start weaving for yourself.Working on a ready-warped simple frame loom, you will learn how to weave your own tapestry, including basic weaving, creating shapes and weaving lines. At the end of the day, you can take your frame loom home with you!
Spaces limited to six people.
Cost: £95 for the day. This includes a frame loom to take home, all yarns and the use of all other weaving equipment during the taster session.
Location: Westbury Arts Centre, Milton Keynes, MK5 6AA.
Times: 10am – 5pm
Date: Saturday 3rd October / Sunday 1st November.

About Karen, your tutor:
Karen studied textile design and technology at Huddersfield Polytechnic, specialising in woven textiles, and graduated in 1991. After working in commercial design and gaining a PhD in wildlife conservation, she returned to textiles through a number of short courses in tapestry weaving. Karen now has a studio at Westbury Arts Centre in Milton Keynes and exhibits both locally and around the UK.
