In this workshop, Ryan & Sara will provide practical tips for responsible psychedelic exploration, integration, and community building.
About this Event

This workshop is designed to support individuals who use or are considering using psychedelics in personal, community or social environments and are interested in deepening their relationship with psychedelic medicines. We will provide practical tips for responsible psychedelic exploration, integration, and community building.

Through a deepening of our understanding of these powerful substances, we will examine the spectrum of effects – and potential challenges – that can result from variations in substance, dose, set, setting, and support. From there, we explore how preparation, risk reduction, peer support, integration and community all become vital foundations for a healthy ecosystem of individual and collective transformation.

The workshop is developed to support the mindful navigation of psychedelic experiences and provide the attendee with tools and skills to navigate their own psychedelic experiences as well as support others in their community. Facilitated by Sara Gael and Ryan Beauregard former leadership and training team at MAPS and Zendo Project.

About the Teachers:

Sara Gael Beauregard

Sara is a psychedelic therapist, educator, and community organizer. She is co-founder of Memoru Center for Visionary Healing Arts. For over 12 years she has worked in environments where people are taking psychedelics including festivals and concerts, to provide direct support and education for those using psychedelics in social and community settings. She has also worked as an Investigator for clinical research trials investigating the efficacy of MDMA-Assisted Therapy for the treatment of PTSD and is a MAPS PBC Educator and Associate Supervisor. Sara is the former Director of Harm Reduction at MAPS, where she oversaw the Zendo Project and developed curriculum for Zendo Project volunteer training and developed curriculum for the MAPS Denver First Responder Psychedelic Crisis Assessment and Intervention Training. She is the Lead Instructor for the Integrative Psychiatry Institute Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Training and a Facilitator for Beckley Academy. She is an Advisor and former Board President at DanceSafe and the appointed harm reduction representative on the Denver Psilocybin Mushroom Policy Review Panel. Sara’s dual experience working in both clinical/research contexts and in community settings has provided her with unique insights to share with clinicians. Sara is an advocate for the careful and responsible integration of psychedelic substances into mental health treatment and society and believes that as we explore the potential benefits of psychedelics we must also discuss the potential risks and challenges unique to psychedelics.

Ryan Jay Beauregard

Ryan is a teacher, mentor, and guide. He has been working in the psychedelic field for over a decade as a peer support specialist and trainer. He served as the program manager for the Zendo Project and developed and delivered curriculum for the MAPS Psychedelic Foundations Training. His background in nature mentoring and rites of passage work developed during his immersion with Wilderness Youth Project. At the age of 30, he embarked on a 4-day Lakota vision quest. Two years later, during a 10-day ayahuasca dieta in Peru, he experienced a month-long spiritual awakening which radically shifted his perspective on human and planetary suffering. It took him months to return back to consensus reality and will take a lifetime to fully integrate the multidimensional experience. Ryan’s own healing journey is foundational to his work with others. He is passionate about the connection between psychedelics and the environment and how psychedelics can help heal our relationship with nature, connect us with our deepest gifts and purpose, and transform our ancestral trauma through grief work.
