About this Event
Are you curious about a career in health, social work or social care research?
Join us for the InterCity Place Research Experience Day — a free, friendly and inspiring day designed to give students and emerging health and care professionals a real taste of what research looks and feels like in practice.
Hosted at the University of Plymouth's state-of-the-art InterCity Place facility, this is your chance to meet researchers, hear about their journeys, and get hands-on in real research environments across the allied health professions.
What to expect on the day:
🎤 A keynote welcome and short talks from current PhD and postgraduate researchers — hear first-hand what it is like to pursue a research career across different health and care disciplines
🔬 Afternoon research workstation tours — spend time in three specialist settings including the Motion Analysis Lab, the OT Community Flat, and the Social Work research space. Rotate between stations and experience the breadth and creativity of health and care research up close
🏆 ICP Research Bingo — a fun, interactive game with prizes to help you explore and connect with the day
🍽️ Lunch and refreshments included
Whether you are a final year student, a practising health or care professional, or simply research-curious — this day is for you. No prior research experience needed, just an open mind and a willingness to explore!
