Learn what a truly circular bakery looks like: the material choices behind it, then benchmark your own space, with Reassemble #CEweek2026.
About this Event

Part of Circular Economy Week 2026

Sustainability in hospitality design gets talked about a lot. Fewer people get to walk through a real site and see how the decisions actually played out, what got reused, what got specified differently, and what it cost.

This session takes place inside GAIL's The Firestation, a fitout led by Reassemble that's shortlisted for two awards at the British Institute Interior Design ceremony the following evening. David, co-founder of Reassemble, will walk you through the space itself: the material choices, the sourcing decisions, and the trade-offs that came with them.

You'll then take part in a live, collaborative workshop using the Hospitality Circular Scorecard, benchmarking your own hospitality venue against the choices you've just seen in the room. It's a quick but thoughtful, multiple-choice questionnaire that allows you to discover how your restaurant or hospitality space measures up against sustainable design and operational best practices. Upon completion, you'll instantly get your personalised Circular Score, plus practical strategies to elevate sustainability in your current and future spaces.

The morning closes with an open discussion on cost and durability, the questions that come up in every fitout conversation but rarely get answered honestly. Don't worry if you don't have all the answers - this will be an open discussion.

This event has been created for people in the hospitality industry who want something more useful than a panel talk. Our industry has got good at asking where its food comes from. Now we need to ask the same of our materials: where they come from, where they go next, how long they'll serve us.

This isn't about perfect spaces. It's about making better decisions that reduce risk, reduce waste and build more resilient assets.

Please bring your laptop so you can complete your scorecard.

Please note: due to this being so industry specific, tickets are reserved for people who work within a hospitality company (eg. operators, sustainability, property, founders). This is not an event for other design professionals. Thank you.
