Learn the fundamentals of improv comedy in a fun, supportive environment at Grove 34! Through engaging games and exercises, you’ll explore everything from basic stage presence and acting technique to improv-specific concepts like “Yes, And,” object work, and tools for performing both short-form and long-form improv. Designed for complete beginners as well as experienced improvisers looking to sharpen their skills and reconnect with their sense of play. INSTRUCTOR BIO:
James Quesada is an improviser and comedy producer based right here in Astoria and a co-owner of Grove 34. He’s been performing improv since 2009, teaching since 2012, and has been featured in over a dozen festivals all across the country including LA, Chicago, Detroit, NYC, and many places in between.
