Join us for a new cinema rendez-vous at the Institut français! IFC is launching its Cineclub, where a Cambodian director is invited to choose a film that they find personally inspiring or technically impressive. For the fourth rendez-vous, we are featuring Lida Chan, a female Cambodian filmmaker. She joined Bophana Center in 2006, where, as an archivist, she specializes in the analysis of Khmer Rouge archives. She also works as a radio journalist for RFI (Radio France International), where she covered the trial of former Khmer Rouge cadre Duch.

This is a 2012 documentary film co-directed by Lida Chan and Guillaume Suon, which portrays a victim of forced marriage under the Khmer Rouge regime. The film premiered at the 2012 International Documentary Filmfestival Amsterdam and won the Award for Best Mid-Length Documentary.
