About Darren Emerson
As a pivotal former member of Underworld and one of the defining artists of the Global Underground generation, Darren Emerson remains one of the most respected names in electronic music.
From Born Slippy .NUXX, Rez, Cowgirl and Dark & Long to his influential Global Underground compilations, Emerson has helped shape dance music culture for more than three decades.
His career includes acclaimed productions, collaborations and remixes, while his DJ sets continue to headline clubs and festivals around the world.
More recently, Emerson has revisited and remixed the acclaimed Dark and Long (Dark Train), delivering a powerful 2026 reworking of the seminal Underworld masterpiece and bringing one of electronic music's most enduring tracks firmly back to the dancefloor.
The timing is particularly significant as Trainspotting celebrates its 30th anniversary. Emerson was invited to close a special anniversary event at Edinburgh's Leith Theatre, presented with the Edinburgh International Film Festival, honouring a landmark soundtrack shaped in part by Underworld's Dark and Long and Born Slippy.
