About this Event
Class Description:
In this class students will learn best practices for making a mosaic (ex. starting with the border, create the foreground first, etc.) and assist with placing tile pieces the appropriate amount of space apart. Each student will receive a board or canvas with double sided tile mat already secured on the surface. The tile pieces available will be pre-cut and sorted, with the option to create your own design or follow a given design.
All Materials provided, students will share water buckets and sponges to wipe away the excess grout and use dry sponges to polish the tile once the grout is dry.
Students can take their projects home after the workshop but they should let the mosaic dry completely for 24 hours while laying flat. The tile placement should take 1 hour, grouting about 30 minutes, and wiping away/polishing the pieces should take 45 mins to 1 hour.
