WHAT IS THE HIP-HOP RESIDENCY?

The Hip-Hop Residency is a monthly, eight-hour live cultural residency dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and advancing authentic hip-hop culture. This is not a typical concert or nightclub party it is a living, breathing hip-hop ecosystem where all five elements of the culture coexist in one space: DJing, MCing, breakdancing, graffiti, and beatboxing.

Each event is designed to be immersive, interactive, and community-driven, blending live music, performance, visual art, and cultural storytelling into one continuous experience.

WHO IS BEHIND IT?

The residency is curated by Phoenix Orion a hip-hop historian, original B-Boy, former choreographer, DJ, graffiti artist, and published author with deep roots in New York City, California, and Las Vegas.

Phoenix Orion brings decades of lived experience in hip-hop culture and is also a featured contributor in three exhibits at the Universal Hip Hop Museum opening in 2026. This residency is guided by cultural stewardship, not trends.

WHERE IS IT LOCATED?

The Hip-Hop Residency takes place at Ninja Karaoke, located in the heart of the Las Vegas Arts District, directly within the First Friday corridor.

The venue is owned by a member of Super Crew winners of America’s Best Dance Crew, world champion breakdancers, and featured performers in Planet B-Boy.

This location ensures cultural credibility, high foot traffic, and deep roots in the arts community.

HOW DOES THE NIGHT FLOW?

The Hip-Hop Residency runs as a continuous cultural program, not a stop-and-go show.

Throughout the night, guests experience:

• Curated DJ sets anchoring the entire event

• Live MC performances and freestyle cyphers

• Breakdance cyphers and featured showcases

• Live graffiti and mural painting

• Art installations throughout the venue

• Culture-aligned vendors and pop-ups

There is no dead air the DJ is the spine of the night, and each hour delivers a moment worth experiencing and sharing.

Hip-hop is over 50 years old and still evolving. While other genres have matured, hip-hop continues to grow culturally, commercially, and globally. Las Vegas has proven demand for hip-hop experiences, yet few platforms exist that honor the culture authentically and consistently.

Info: Don't you dislike it when you go to a show, and there are too many wack artists before you get to the headline act lol. Not at the Hip Hop Residency Fam. We're gonna let the DJ's spin with no interruptions at the prime time of the night. After that, the main festivities begin.

Info: This is where we do a cultural exchange. One local Hip Hop act will get a change to open for the headliners. You'll be giving an eventbrite affiliate link to sell discounted tickets, email your music, bio, epk or social network links to [email protected]. Each artist only has 3 weeks to sell tickets. The artist who sells the most tickets will open for the headliners; the other artist will receive a portion of the tickets they sell.

Info: Before we end each show High Qlty & The Phocus Group will be presenting each headliner with a Hip Hop Achievement Award. For the culture by the culture, acknowledging their achievements for 10+ years.
