About this Event
This fascinating walking food tour explores one of South Philly’s most talked-about neighborhoods: East Passyunk, a booming hotspot filled with trendsetting restaurants and unique local shops. This tour is the perfect way to get the inside scoop on this foodie haven that Food & Wine Magazine named one of the “Top 10 Foodie Streets in America.” Plus, 12 of the spots on Philadelphia Magazine’s latest list of The 50 Best Restaurants in Philadelphia are located on East Passyunk Avenue, and we’ll show you where to find them.
Over the course of this Saturday afternoon tour, you’ll uncover the restaurants and bars that have transformed East Passyunk from a quiet neighborhood street into the epicenter of Philadelphia’s culinary scene. Starting at one end of the Avenue, we’ll make our way past celebrated spots and hidden gems while sharing stories about the chefs, owners, and the vibrant local culture. Along the route, we’ll also stop to admire iconic murals and landmarks that give this area its distinctive character.
This tour includes tasty stops at places like: Mike’s BBQ for a creative twist on Philly’s most famous dish; Barcelona Wine Bar for bold and flavorful Spanish-style tapas; Pizzata where handcrafted brick-oven pizza is made from scratch; and we’ll step inside Philly's most famous Italian Bakery for a sweet and filling dessert.
Together, these tastings add up to a satisfying meal. The tour ends just in time for you to grab a table at one of the acclaimed East Passyunk restaurants we highlight - like Laurel, Mish Mish, Ember & Ash, or River Twice - as many begin dinner service right as the tour wraps up.
