The Death of Money
Carausias arise!
CELYN OF GWENT
Dying and Rising by Celyn of Gwent is a live solo audiovisual performance combining electronic music, ethereal live voice, sound-reactive visuals and poetic monologues.
Merging electronica, avant-pop and sound art with traditional folk ballads of the British Isles, the piece is an urgent artistic response to living through the climate crisis in 21st century Britain.
Dying and Rising explores the intersection of ecology and identity in contemporary Britain through the perspective of queer Welsh sonic artist and storyteller, Celyn of Gwent.
Designed for audiences interested in boundary-pushing audiovisual performance, LGBTQ+ perspectives in contemporary art, traditional music reinterpretation and climate-conscious storytelling, Dying and Rising offers a powerful, evolving live experience where sound and image are tightly interwoven in real time.
THE DEATH OF MONEY
Formed in South Wales in 2004, The Death of Money have spent over two decades forging a distinctive path through the heavier reaches of underground music. Rooted in doom and sludge metal but infused with post-rock, shoegaze, goth and ambient textures, the band's expansive sound is both crushingly heavy and hauntingly atmospheric.
In 2024, the band released their fifth album, Error After Era, via their own Suntreader label. Marking both their 20th anniversary and their first full-length since 2017's Ghost Pains, an album that included a collaboration with Jarboe (Swans).
Now based between Cardiff and Manchester, the trio consists of vocalist/guitarist Darren Kaskie, drummer Ian Charles, and bassist Marc Real. Over the years they have toured throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, as well as multiple stints in Ukraine and Russia, sharing stages with acclaimed acts including Pelican, This Will Destroy You, Future of the Left, Gnod, Liturgy, Envy, And So I Watch You from Afar and Beak> among many others.
For fans of immersive, emotionally charged heaviness, The Death of Money continue to prove that they are one of the UK's most unique and uncompromising underground bands.
CARAUSIAS ARISE!
Carausias Arise! is the latest sonic ritual from Ceredigion-based obscurant Dafydd Roberts, sometimes known for his eerie alchemical-drone and hermetic sound experiments.
Carausias Arise! is a live sonic ritual shaped by electronic noise, abstracted texture, and hymnic invocation, drawing on Anglo-Welsh poetry and 17th-century alchemical writings. It grows out of the folk-noise haze of Flying Saucer Attack, echoing Coil’s ritual electronics and the spectral vocal drift of Cucina Povera.
“A fabulous delirium of competing frequencies.” – Biba Kopf, The Wire “Weird and wonderful alchemy.” – Tom Ridge, The Wire “An astonishing meditation of noise… amazed and terrified by the unstoppable power he has unleashed.” – Ed Pinsent, The Sound Projector
