Try your hand at lettering with Boston-based artist Kenji Nakayama. Drawing from his background in traditional sign painting and handcrafted lettering, Kenji will introduce you to the creative process and techniques behind making letters by hand.
This event features two sessions and is free to attend, with no experience or RSVP required. The creativity keeps going November 9 - November 13, as the artist will leave behind something for you to discover and explore at your own pace. Just look for the Art Cart and see what’s waiting for you.
About the artist:
Kenji Nakayama is a Boston-based artist originally from Hokkaido, Japan. Trained in traditional sign painting, his practice spans hand lettering, pinstriping, gilding, and intricate hand-cut stencil paintings. His highly detailed work draws inspiration from his surroundings and balances careful craftsmanship with observation, experimentation, and storytelling. Website Instagram
