About this Event
Part of Theatreship's guest nights - where contemporary artists take over the ship to highlight the stories they want to tell.
In this edition, we welcome Ocean Songs onboard.
Here's some more info from them:
Hear Ocean Songs - a new album merging ambient, contemporary classical, jazz and rock music - performed live, take home a free signed album, and chat to the artists. Our exciting cross-genre line-up features Lottie P (Goat Girl), Steve Pretty (Hackney Colliery Band), Colin Riley (composer) and Nic Pendlebury (Smith Quartet). Full of unusual sounds - conch shells, electronically manipulated vocals and trumpets, bowed wine glasses and electric viola.
Commissioned by Royal Museums Greenwich and First Light Festival, this “docu-pop” project celebrates our oceans with a selection of songs about whales, waves, myths and climate, with recorded spoken-word contributions from oceanographer Helen Czerski and broadcaster George Monbiot.

The venue opens at 4pm for drinks in the bar.
Theatreship is committed to broadening access to the arts - we know that ticket price is a huge barrier for some. If the regular ticket price is beyond what you feel able to afford for whatever reason, please don't hesitate to email us at [email protected] and we will do everything we can to help, no questions asked.
We also offer arts supporter tickets, for those that can, to pay a higher price to support the venue, the artists who perform here and subsidised tickets for others.
Due to the historic nature of the ship, we’re sorry to say there is not currently step-free access into the theatre space. We have dedicated staff on hand to help with stairs, and an onsite wheelchair once you’re inside the venue. If you have any access needs, please do e-mail us at [email protected].
