A half-day conference for students to get inspiration and practical advice on their next steps in environmental and sustainability careers.
About this Event

This is an in-person event at the Linnean Society

An afternoon of talks, workshops and networking to help students take their next steps in their career.

Learn about the career paths available, meet your peers, network with green organisations, and gain new skills to enhance your career prospects.

All are welcome, but this event is specifically aimed at undergraduate/masters students and early careers professionals.

Your ticket will provide access to the talks, workshops, keynote speech, tea and coffee breaks, and a drinks reception. Please note that lunch will not be provided.


Programme*
13:30 – 14:00 Registration and networking
14:00 – 15:15 Introduction and panel discussion

Hear the career stories of four inspiring people from diverse areas of the green sector and have an opportunity to ask them questions.

On this year's panel we have:

  • Elliot Newton - Co-Founder and Director of Rewilding at Citizen Zoo, former Biodiversity Officer for Royal borough of Kingston.
  • Dain son - Expert on the intercection of ESG & DEI, Owner/Director of Inclusive Sustainability.
  • Sally-Ann Spence FRES FLS - Environmental Educator, Farmer, Researcher specialising in dung beetles and pastureland biodiversity.
  • Ajai Ahluwalia - Electrical engineer with specialisms in wind farms. Head of Supply Chain at RenewableUK, Director of Lambeth Community Solar.

Amy Bray, CEO and Founder of Another Way, winner of the John Spedan Lewis Emerging Leader Award 2026

Amy Bray is a young leader turning environmental concern into practical action. At 16 she founded Another Way, a youth-led charity that grew from a grassroots project in Cumbria into a national movement engaging thousands of young people, schools and communities. In 2021 she launched the Power of 10 movement and digital platform, giving young changemakers tools, resources and support to tackle climate challenges while building skills and resilience. Recognised with the Prime Minister’s Points of Light Award and roles in national environmental programmes, Amy combines science, education and community action to inspire young people to lead lasting environmental change.
