About the ShowThe boyfriends didn’t last. The furniture did. In Furniture Boys, New York writer-performer Emily Weitzman turns boyfriends into futons and lampshades, and goes looking for what actually lasts: a relationship, a memory, a sofa bed?

Part theatre, part clown, part spoken word, part furniture showroom. Emily is a poet and performer who teaches at Columbia University in New York. The show is directed by Kate Doyle and Jacob Combs, and arrives in Amsterdam after sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2025 and 2026 and a sold-out run at SoHo Playhouse, Off-Broadway.
The Guardian called it “shimmeringly silly”. The Orlando Sentinel warned that you might go home and hug your favorite ottoman. One night only!
