From Stranger to Neighbor—Portraits of Refuge, Resilience & Welcome
Immigration is often discussed through headlines, policies, and political debates—but behind every conversation are the stories of real people and communities. Join us for a special Open Forum, in partnership with Exodus World Service, featuring a portrait gallery highlighting the resilience and experiences of our refugee neighbors in Chicago.
We'll begin by enjoying light desserts and coffee as you take time to view the portraits throughout the space. We’ll then gather to hear some of the stories behind them.
Through these stories and our conversation together, we’ll deepen our understanding of the U.S. refugee resettlement process, explore the biblical call to welcome and care for the stranger among us, and reflect on what it means to be a neighbor in our own city.
The event is free, but please register so we can plan for refreshments!

Host: Exodus World Service
Info: Since 1988, Exodus World Service has mobilized the Christian community to welcome and befriend refugees. They do this by educating churches about the plight of refugees, connecting volunteers with refugees through practical service projects, and empowering people to be champions for resettled refugees in Chicagoland and refugees overseas.
