About this Event
Since June, neighbours have been coming together to explore what makes Cedarvale Park and Ravine special and what we hope for its future. Across our launch walk and three sessions, we’ve mapped the assets we share as a community, gathered dozens of ideas, and watched areas of work start to take shape around ecology, community development, infrastructure, heritage and culture, and accessibility and inclusion.
That led us to an important question: how do we actually work together on all of this? Before moving forward, we thought it was important to define the values and vision that will guide us. That’s what Session 4 is all about,
We’ll start with a recap of what we’ve learned together so far, then build on our community assets to find where our values align and what future we imagine for Cedarvale. The session will be co-led by Valentina Gastaldo and Matthias Hoben, a neighbour who has joined almost every session so far and shared great ideas on how we can organize ourselves to work together.
You don’t need to have attended any previous sessions to join. In fact, if you’ve been curious but haven’t made it out yet, this is the one to come to. The more voices, the stronger the foundation we can build together.
For the first time, we’re going hybrid. Join us in person at Wychwood Library or online from wherever you are. Just choose the ticket that works for you when registering!

Thinking Ahead
This pilot is the start of a larger goal, building a process model for community building in parks that other neighbourhoods and friends of parks across Toronto can adapt.
The City of Toronto has expressed interest in this project, and generously provided a small honorarium to help get it off the ground. We're grateful for their support and continuing to explore ways to partner as this grows.
