11a-11:15a: Break, with a second facility tour for anyone who missed the first one or is only coming for basketball
11:15a-12p: Basketball
Spend the morning training with the Texas Tornados coaching staff in Houston. Students can come for volleyball, basketball, or both. Each session is built for beginners and advanced players alike, and coaches will group athletes by ability so everyone trains at the right level.
Volleyball (45 minutes): Athletes start with agility and footwork drills, then work on passing fundamentals with a partner. From there they move on to passing on the move and to a target. They finish by learning the hitting approach and arm swing, then put it all together with coach-tossed hitting reps.
Basketball (45 minutes): Athletes warm up with ball handling, then work through stationary and moving dribbling drills. Next comes a zigzag cone course that ends with layups on both hands. The session finishes with shooting form, spot shooting, and pull-up shots off the dribble, then free throws to wrap up.
It is also a great chance to see the facility, meet the Texas Tornados coaches, and connect with other homeschool and Texas Sports Academy families in the area.

Who can attend
Homeschool athletes in 3rd through 12th grade of all experience levels.
What to bring
Athletic clothes, athletic shoes, and a water bottle.
This event is free and sponsored by Texas Sports Academy, an online school built for student athletes, but you must RSVP to attend.
Registration
One ticket per athlete for each session. Coming for both volleyball and basketball? Choose a ticket for each session. Parents do not need a ticket. If you already registered on the Texas Sports Academy community event page, please do not register again here.
