About this Event
For the Streets! A Festival of Political Performance will celebrate artists and performance works that engage with audiences in public spaces and take on serious topics with imagination, humor, and forward-thinking vision. The event will present an array of performing artists, visual artists, and political organizers and campaigns hailing from the five boroughs and beyond.
The lineup at For the Streets! features artists from a range of disciplines focused on strengthening connections between performance and politics: Francesca Barr, Box Cutter Collective, Salomé Egas, The Street Theatre Crew, Freedom Debkah, and Rude Mechanical Orchestra. The event will also feature creative campaigns and calls to action from organizers working across a range issues, and aims to forge connections and experiments in radical imagination between artists and left and progressive movements from across the city.
