Film Flex: A Monthly Short Film Challenge! It's (finally) back! Get ready for a hands-on short film challenge where no experience, gear, or team is needed ahead of time! Learn a new filmmaking technique with every challenge, team up with fellow creatives, and come together for a live screening of your films!
EVENT DETAILS:
Date: First event at the end of October
Location: Creative Veins Performing Arts
Notes: First event by invitation to iron out the format :)
Ages: 18+
ABOUT THIS EVENT:
Film Flex is a monthly event for anyone interested in the filmmaking process and ready to start building skills from the ground up, one short film challenge at a time. We'll help you find a team to join and get everything you need to make your film. Challenges start simple and get more advanced each round, so your skills grow with every film.
Our first Film Flex kicks off at the end of October! This first event is invitation-only, but we'll be opening it up to everyone soon.
HOW IT WORKS:
• Learn: We reveal the next Film Flex challenge and break down the technique you'll use in your film
• Film: Join a team (we'll help you find one!) and make your short film using that round's technique
• Flex: At the next event, we screen every film together so you can show off what you've learned
• Repeat: Each Film Flex challenge builds on the last, so your skills keep growing
Want feedback on your film? Just check the box when you submit, and we'll share it live during the screening.
EVERY FILM FLEX INCLUDES:
• A screening of the latest challenge films
• A breakdown and demo of the next technique
• The next challenge a full day before it's posted online
• Help finding a team to join
• A chance to try new roles, both on set and on camera
• Live feedback for anyone who requests it
Film Flex is all about learning and growing together. Actors try crew roles, crew members step in front of the camera, and everyone pitches in to build their skills side by side.

Learn. Film. Flex. Repeat.
See you on set,
