About this Event
Fernhill School will be a purpose-built specialist provision for autistic students aged 11-19 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who meet the Local Authority’s admissions criteria. Located within Rosehill Park in Sutton, the school will provide 96 places and offer a broad and ambitious curriculum focused on rich learning experiences and preparation for adulthood from Year 7 onwards.
The £20m+ development, designed by HLM Architects and constructed by Reds10, will include specialist therapy spaces, sensory integration rooms, quiet rooms as well as specialist science, music, art and food technology classrooms and outdoor learning areas. The school is also being designed to operate at Net Zero Carbon.
The school will open in September 2027 and these events are an opportunity for parents and carers to find out more about Fernhill School. You will have the chance to meet the team leading the school's opening, explore the vision and find out more about the environment and our approach to ensuring that all children have access to a broad and ambitious curriculum.
You are welcome to drop in anytime during the event, but there will be 20-minute presentations from Amelie Thompson, Assistant Director of SEND and Special Provision at the Greenshaw Learning Trust, at the following times:
- Tuesday 22nd September : 10am, 11.30am and 1pm
- Monday 5th October: 3pm and 5pm

Directions: Before 4pm - Enter via Times Square Shopping Centre from Sutton High Street, between H. Samuel and Starbucks. Follow the signs for Oru. After 4pm - Use the Throwley Way entrance, opposite the Times Square multi-storey car park. Look for the dusty-pink Oru entrance.
