ŐSBEMUTATÓRA KÉSZÜLÜNK!
Kimonóban lejtett táncok legyezővel és lámpással… Karddal bemutatott kata-sorozat, amelyet különlegessé tesz a koto dallama… Női hakamában előadott botos tánc… Esküvőre készülő menyasszony… Matsuri, fesztiváli dobzene…
Élőben először bemutatott koto- és shakuhachidarabok… Waka-recitálás, kivetített kalligráfiával…
Érzelmeket kifejező, energikus kortárs tánc, „body-fluid work”…

🇭🇺 A KOTO Hungary mottója: „Bridging Cultures through Koto Music” – Kulturális hidak építése a koto zenén keresztül.

WE ARE PREPARING FOR A WORLD PREMIERE!
Dances performed in kimono with fans and lanterns… A sequence of sword kata made unique by the accompanying melodies of the koto… A dance performed in a traditional women’s hakama with a Japanese jō… A bride preparing for her wedding… The vibrant rhythms of matsuri festival drumming…
Koto and shakuhachi pieces performed live for the very first time… Waka poetry recitation accompanied by projected calligraphy…
An energetic contemporary dance expressing a wide range of emotions through “body-fluid work”…
The pulsating rhythms of batucada… A dialogue between drums… Vibrant Brazilian singing and guitar music…
The performance concludes with a joyful celebration in which different cultures come together in a spirit of mutual appreciation.
WHO AND WHAT INSPIRED THE TITLE?
The White Deer appears in an album by József Domján, an acclaimed graphic artist and master of woodcut printing whose work is connected to both Japan and Hungarian folk art. The remarkable life of the Kossuth and Munkácsy Prize-winning artist was defined by extraordinary perseverance.

The 13-string koto is a traditional Japanese zither and one of Japan’s national instruments. It also symbolises the mythical dragon. The bridge-like shape of the instrument, which is made from paulownia wood, inspired the central idea of the production: a bridge connecting Hungary, Japan and Brazil – spanning continents and oceans and bringing cultures together.
And so the White Deer travels across the bridge of the Koto Dragon.
🇭🇺 The motto of KOTO Hungary is: “Bridging the Cultures via Koto Music”
