About this Event
The what: A 2-hour interactive workshop where you get an overview of the logistics someone faces when a loved one dies, and how to prepare for that transition with care. Whether you’re planning for yourself or for a loved one, you will assess where you are with those preparations, learn the difference between wills and trusts, and leave with a draft of your will. This is not an "estate law seminar” but rather a communal space for learning and action.
The why: Most of us have been putting off end-of-life planning or talking to our loved ones about it for years, not because we don't care, but because it feels overwhelming. Everybody Dies is a community space built on the idea that you don't have to do this alone. We normalize talking about planning for death so you can live with more intention. This workshop is the entry point: practical planning, honest conversation, and the weird relief of doing the thing you've been avoiding.
For who (audience): Adults planning for their own death OR helping a loved one (a parent, partner, or someone they care for) get their affairs in order. This workshop is for caretakers, parents, single folks, and anyone thinking about end-of-life planning. No prior experience is needed and zero prep is required. If you’re feeling avoidant, overwhelmed, or already in it because of a loved one's needs, this workshop is for you.
By who (facilitators): Miki Poy & Kennette Banks are two experienced coaches and facilitators who bring a warm and embodied presence to their work. They also bring personal experience to this offering, and believe that building loving community to plan for and move through death lightens the load.
