Estuary Dreams: Basildon Nights is a three night event bringing together cinema, live music, performance and poetry across South Essex. Curated by award winning Basildon filmmaker Aaron Shrimpton, the series celebrates the depth and range of contemporary creative practice in the region, moving from screen to stage to spoken word across three distinct evenings.

Our third and final evening - Spoken, invites you to join us for an evening of live storytelling and work in progress, where voice, imagination and creative expression take centre stage. Featuring writers, poets and performance makers sharing original pieces alongside ideas still taking shape, Spoken offers a rare opportunity to encounter creativity in its most immediate and exciting form.
Curated by Award Winning Basildon filmmaker & Poet Aaron Shrimpton, the evening brings together artists whose work explores identity, place, memory and the worlds we create through language. From intimate personal reflections to experimental performance pieces, audiences can expect a rich and varied programme that celebrates the power of words to connect, provoke and inspire.
