Join us for an 8-week English as a Second Language (ESL) program designed for refugees and newcomers, who want to improve their English in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.
Dates: Every Tuesday, Sept 22 to Nov 11
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: RBC Patient and Family Learning Space (PFLS) at CAMH
1025 Queen Street West, Ground Floor
Description:
This program helps you improve your English and learn about mental health at the same time.
You will:
- Practice English for everyday life
- Learn simple words and phrases about mental health and feelings
- Learn how the mental health care system works, so you know where to go for help
- Meet other people and make new connections
- Build confidence to speak up for yourself and your family
We use easy activities and group discussions. You will practice real English you can use every day.
This program is for everyone.
- You do not need advanced English.
- Classes go at your pace.
- Classes are trauma-informed and designed to ensure everyone feels safe and respected.
This program is facilitated in partnership with COSTI Immigrant Services
