About this Event
Emma Cowing, author of The Show Woman, launches her new book The Pleasure Palace in conversation with Susie Green of In My Good Books!
The Pleasure Palace is a phenomenal gothic historical novel following London showgirl Emerald as she is invited to the remote Hebridean island castle of a wealthy and mysterious Scottish bachelor. At first sight it seems to be all leisure and luxury, but as her stay extends it is increasingly clear not all is as it seems, and the goings on in the so-called pleasure palace in the basement might have dramatic consequences for everyone...
Emma joins us to discuss the draw of glitz and glam, the importance of showing the darkness behind the stagelights, and the fascination of history for a novelist with the host and creator of hit podcast In My Good Books Susie Green, before signing copies of her books.
