Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
This Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed for those acting as a first aider in low-risk environments. It focuses on the essential, life-saving skills needed to respond quickly and effectively when it matters most.
Who should attend?
During this course, you will gain the confidence to take control of an emergency, provide immediate care, and support a casualty until further help arrives.
Ideal for:
- Low-risk workplaces (offices, retail, small businesses)
- Appointed persons
- Anyone wanting practical, essential first aid skills
Anyone over the age of 16 who may need first aid skills.
Course Outline
Delivered by qualified trainers in a practical, hands-on format, focused on simple techniques that work in real situations.
Topics include:
- Role of the first aider
- Assessing an incident
- CPR and use of an AED
- Unresponsive casualty
- Choking
- Bleeding and shock
Plus much more.
Course Duration
1 Day practical training.
Assessment & certification
Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment; there is no final exam. Once you have completed and met the requirements, you will be issued a certificate that is valid for three years. Under the current guidelines, it is strongly recommended that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every twelve months.

Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellation charges are based on the notice given before the course date:
- 1–14 days: 100% of the course fee
- 15–21 days: 50% of the course fee
- 22–28 days: 25% of the course fee
- More than 28 days: No cancellation charge
