Presented as part of the Bent But Not Broken 4.0 Conference and open to the public, Those Who Sow in Tears Shall Reap in Joy journeys from sorrow and struggle toward healing, resilience, and irrepressible joy. Through music by Damien Geter, Betty Jackson King, Jasmine Barnes, Philadelphia’s own Charles Albert Tindley, and others, the program honors the deep roots of Black Joy. Here, joy is not an escape from suffering; it is an inheritance, a spiritual resource, and a radical act of resistance. Even when watered by tears, these musical traditions continue to take root, rise, and bear fruit. This concert is open to the public. Separate concert ticket required (no conference registration needed).
