The Adult Choir and Schola present this choral masterpiece by the French composer, Maurice Duruflé. Blending Gregorian chant with impressionist harmony, Duruflé creates a deeply peaceful, meditative atmosphere. The concert will be directed by William Fred Scott, with Tami Petty as mezzo-soprano soloist, cellist Guang Wang, accompanied by organists Matthew Michael Brown and Jonathan Easter. The concert will be preceded by a 6pm lecture by Ned Tipton, noted authority on the music of Maurice Duruflé and former organ student of the composer's wife, Marie-Madeleine Duruflé. The lecture and concert are open to all with no ticket required.
