Interview Skills for Life
Siew Ling approaches interview preparation as an opportunity to build a life skill. Her focus is on helping students understand themselves, recognise their strengths and express their thoughts with clarity and confidence.
While a DSA offer is a meaningful outcome, the broader aim is for each child to find their own voice and develop skills they can carry into future interviews and everyday conversations.
What Your Child Will Learn
Through guided exercises and practice, participants will learn how to:
- Understand what to expect in DSA interviews, including different interview formats and past questions
- Explain their interests, experiences and strengths authentically
- Respond to both general and talent-specific questions
- Recognise how posture, body language and tone affect the impression they make
- Build rapport and engage confidently with interviewers
- Continue preparing independently using practical self-practice techniques
Small-Group Practice and Personalised Feedback
With a maximum of five students, each participant will have the opportunity to put the skills into practice through a mock interview and receive personalised feedback.
Feedback will cover their responses, body language, reactions, use of language and rapport-building, with specific recommendations to guide further preparation.
