About this Event

Join us for an insightful presentation, "Domestic Violence Awareness: Moving From Awareness to Action", a presentation exploring how cultural norms, family and faith expectations, immigration status, language access, and stigma can shape survivors’ experiences of domestic violence and their ability to seek support.

This session will focus on cultural humility and survivor-led, accessible support. Participants will learn practical ways to respond to survivors without judgment, recognize how cultural and systemic factors can affect help-seeking, and connect survivors with appropriate resources. Together, we’ll explore how to move beyond awareness toward meaningful, sustained action in supporting survivors.

This event is FREE to the public. ICDVP CEUs are available for a $10 fee. We hope to see you!

This session will be led by Jumai Olumo-Saidu, Alternatives to Violence and Prevention Coordinator.
