This week we welcome DJ Cotton Tail (Justine Robinson) at Strut!Happy birthday to swing, blues and R&B clarinetist and saxophonist Jack McVea, born November 5, 1914! McVea played in Lionel Hampton's orchestra between 1940 and 1944 before leading his own band. From 1966 until 1992 he led the Royal Street Bachelors, playing in New Orleans Square at Disneyland - McVea learned to play the clarinet overnight in order to secure the job!
