Ready to take your DJ skills to the next level?
This practical four-week course is designed for learners who already understand the basics of DJing and want to develop greater confidence, creativity and flow. Through hands-on practice, you’ll work on your technique, learn how to make better use of Rekordbox and explore more advanced ways of mixing and transitioning between tracks.
The emphasis will be on learning by doing, giving you plenty of opportunity to practise and develop your own DJ style.
What you’ll learn
Over the four weeks, you’ll explore:
- Hot Cues and track navigation – mark and navigate tracks quickly and accurately
- Creative transitions – move beyond standard beat-matching and experiment with different mixing techniques
- Continuous mixing – develop the confidence and stamina to play tracks back-to-back and maintain a natural flow
- Rekordbox management – organise and manage your digital music library effectively
- Music curation – build and organise a strong, usable collection of tracks
- Effects and filters – use effects, filters and pull-ups creatively within your mixes
- Stems – learn how to isolate or mute vocals, drums, bass and instruments for more creative mixing
- Live mashups – experiment with combining elements from different tracks in real time
- Laptop optimisation – adjust your Rekordbox settings to get the best performance from your own equipment
You’ll have the opportunity to work with your own hardware and software, helping you develop skills that you can continue practising at home.
