About this Event

Join us for the very first Dengo Sessions, curated by Gabriel Bello (Rooted Art), bringing together Brazilian artists from Toronto’s independent music scene.

For this inaugural edition, we’re welcoming - Brazilian percussionist, singer, composer, and music educator based in Toronto, whose work is rooted in Afro-Brazilian musical traditions.

The session features one artist performance followed by an intimate conversation about their music, creative process, inspirations, and the stories behind their songs.

More than a performance, Dengo is a space for listening, connection, and conversation - a moment to slow down, discover artists beyond the mainstream, and share in the warmth and closeness that the word dengo evokes.

Come if you… love Brazilian music, want to discover artists you may not have heard before, are curious about the stories behind the songs, or simply want to spend an afternoon listening, connecting, and being inspired. Can't wait to have you at Underscore Projects!

Saturday, Sept 19
