About this Event
This event is designed to be suitable for people living with dementia and their companions.
Beginning with tea, coffee and biscuits in a private space, a member of the Abbey team will introduce Westminster Abbey’s long and fascinating history in a relaxed and informal setting. This gentle opening offers time to settle in, chat together, and prepare for the visit.
We will explore the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries on a special guided tour highlighting some of the Abbey’s most remarkable objects. From royal funeral effigies to precious manuscripts and treasures connected to coronations, this slow, unhurried visit offers the chance to look closely, share thoughts, and enjoy the surroundings, with frequent opportunities to sit.
This event is for people living with dementia and their companions to enjoy together. Please let us know in advance if you have any accessibility requirements so we can adapt the visit accordingly.
