🎙️✨ Dee Dee Bridgewater is a triple Grammy winner, a Tony Award winner, an Olivier nominee, an NEA Jazz Master, an ASCAP Champion, a Doris Duke Artist and a Memphis Music Hall of Fame inductee. But the list doesn't stop there. Dee Dee is also a UN Goodwill Ambassador, a record label founder and one of the most fearless voices in jazz today!
Her four decade career has seen her share stages with Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon and Dizzy Gillespie, win a Tony Award for her unforgettable turn as Glinda in The Wiz, earn an Olivier nomination for her stage portrayal of Billie Holiday in Lady Day, and pick up Grammy after Grammy for her self-produced albums (yes, she runs her own label, DDB Records).
For one night only at Astor Theatre, Dee Dee will be joined by acclaimed pianist Helen Sung, a Guggenheim Fellow and former Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance fellow whose elegant, swinging style brings the perfect contemporary counterpoint.
