About this Event
AI governance is more than having a policy. Your organisation needs clear responsibilities, risk controls, oversight, and a process for what happens when things change. Many organisations know they have gaps in their AI governance but are unsure where to start or what documents they actually need. This practical sprint gives governance, risk, privacy, and operations leaders a structured way to build the core governance instruments around their organisation's real AI use.Across two sessions one week apart, you will draft practical governance documents, test them against your organisational context, and refine them with input from peers working through similar challenges.
Who this is forThis sprint is designed for:
- Governance and risk professionals
- Privacy and compliance leads
- Operations and transformation leaders
- AI governance practitioners
- Professionals accountable for AI use in WA organisations
What we will do together
- Define governance responsibilities: Establish who is accountable, consulted, and informed for AI-related decisions using a practical RACI.
- Build your AI use register: Create a workable register structure and document your organisation's initial AI use cases.
- Assess AI risks: Complete two structured risk assessments using real use cases from your organisation, described without confidential information.
- Design human oversight: Identify practical controls, review points, and human decision-making checkpoints.
- Prepare for incidents and change: Draft procedures for handling incidents, changes to AI systems, and vendor-related issues.
- Report with evidence: Create a concise board briefing that distinguishes what is documented and evidenced from what is still being developed.
What you will take home
- An AI Governance Policy
- An AI Use Register
- Two completed AI Risk Assessments
- A Human Oversight and Controls Design
- An AI Incident and Change Procedure
- A Board-Ready AI Governance One-Pager
Good to knowThis is a practical, small-cohort professional development sprint delivered across two half-day sessions one week apart, giving you time to test and refine your drafts between sessions. Please bring your laptop and be prepared to work with your organisation's AI governance context at a non-confidential level. The sprint is not legal advice, an audit, or a conformity assessment, and does not certify your organisation against any standard.
Refund, Cancellation and Transfer Policy
1) Your legal rights: Our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Nothing in this policy limits them. This policy applies to tickets for this event only.
2) If we cancel or materially change the event: If we cancel this event, or change its date, content, format or delivery mode so materially that it no longer meets your reasonable needs, you can choose either:
(a) a full refund of the total you paid, including Eventbrite fees, to your original payment method; or
(b) a transfer to a later event of your choice.
We do not deduct any fee from these refunds. Minor changes, such as a substitute presenter, a running-order change, or a different room at the same venue, do not entitle you to a refund under this clause. If you think a change is material, email and we will decide within 5 business days. We will give reasons if we decline, and your legal rights are unaffected.
3) If you cannot attend: Tickets are non-refundable for change of mind. If you tell us at least 14 days before the event, you may move your ticket once to another session, subject to availability. It has no cash value.
4) Transferring your ticket to another person: You may transfer your ticket to another person up to 7 days before the event, by emailing with the new attendee’s name and email, or via Eventbrite’s transfer tool where enabled. Tickets must not be resold for more than you paid. We set this cut-off because we confirm final attendee numbers with the venue and caterer, and prepare name badges and course materials, 7 days before each event.
5) No-show or leaving early: No refund or credit is available if you do not attend or leave part-way through, except as required by law.
6) Refund requests: Email with your name, order number and the clause you rely on. We acknowledge requests within 5 business days and decide them within 10 business days. Approved refunds go to the original payment method and normally appear within 5 to 10 business days.
7) Conduct: We may refuse entry or remove an attendee who endangers others or seriously disrupts the event. No refund is due for that. This does not limit your legal rights.
8) Tickets sold through Eventbrite: Eventbrite processes tickets. Its refund tools and terms apply in addition to this policy, and we will honour the rights set out here. For advisory, training or consulting under a separate written agreement, that agreement’s terms apply together with clauses 1 and 2.
