A Cacao & Remembrance Ceremony
There are people we continue to carry long after we have said goodbye.
They live in the food we prepare, the songs that move us, the stories we tell, and the little pieces of ourselves that remind us of them.
Rooted in my Mexican heritage, this gathering is a heartfelt sharing of my culture, traditions, and connection to those who came before me. Día de Muertos/Day of the Dead holds a special place in my heart: a time to honour our departed loved ones, welcome their memory, and celebrate the lives that have shaped our own.
Together, we will gather around an altar of remembrance, bringing photographs, meaningful objects, and stories into a shared space of love. Through these offerings, we make room for the presence of memory and the connection between generations.
We will share cacao prepared with care and intention, allowing its warmth to accompany us as we settle into a guided meditation and remembrance ceremony.
You will be invited to reflect on what your loved ones have left within you, the wisdom you carry, the moments you cherish, and the ways their love continues to move through your life.
There will be space for stories, silence, tears, and laughter. Sharing is always optional. You are welcome to speak a loved one’s name, share a memory, or simply sit and receive.
This ceremony is an invitation to meet remembrance with tenderness and to honour both the ache of missing someone and the joy of having known them.
Please bring a photograph or small meaningful object for our communal ofrenda, along with a journal and anything that helps you feel comfortable. Your offering will return home with you.
All are welcome. No previous experience with cacao or ceremony is needed. Come with curiosity, respect, and an open heart.
